Dodge Goes Full V8 for 2026 Durango Lineup

Dodge Goes Full V8 for 2026 Durango Lineup

In a market trending toward smaller engines and electrification, Dodge is doubling down on what it does best: pure, unapologetic muscle. For 2026, every single Dodge Durango will come standard with a HEMI® V-8 engine — a bold move that puts performance back at the forefront of the SUV conversation.

Starting August 13, all new Durango orders — whether you’re going for the entry-level GT or the fire-breathing SRT Hellcat — will pack serious heat under the hood. Here’s what the lineup looks like for 2026.

2026 Durango GT: Affordable Muscle

Ditching the previous V6, the 2026 Durango GT now comes standard with the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8, delivering:

  • 360 horsepower
  • 390 lb.-ft. of torque
  • A 0–60 mph sprint in just 6.2 seconds (over a full second faster than before)
  • Up to 8,700 lbs of towing capacity (with the optional R/T Tow N Go package)

Starting at $42,495, the GT is now the most affordable AWD V-8 vehicle in the industry — no asterisk required. Fuel Saver Technology with cylinder deactivation helps balance power and efficiency, while the signature V8 exhaust growl lets everyone know you’re not driving just another crossover.

2026 Durango R/T: Now With the 392 HEMI

For the first time ever, the Durango R/T gets a serious performance bump with the 6.4-liter (392-cubic-inch) HEMI V-8, cranking out:

  • 475 horsepower
  • 470 lb.-ft. of torque
  • 0–60 mph in the low 4-second range (official time TBD)
  • Best-in-class towing and aggressive exhaust tuning

This engine was previously reserved for the SRT 392 — now it’s standard in the R/T, offering 115 more horsepower than the outgoing 5.7L model. And all for under $50,000.

2026 Durango SRT Hellcat: Still the King

The Durango SRT Hellcat roars back in 2026, remaining the most powerful gas-powered SUV ever built, with:

  • 710 horsepower
  • 645 lb.-ft. of torque
  • 0–60 mph in 3.5 seconds
  • Top speed of 180 mph
  • Quarter-mile in just 11.5 seconds

At a new starting MSRP of $79,995, it’s the most attainable this supercharged monster has ever been — making world-class performance just a little less out of reach.

Hellcat Jailbreak: Unleash Your Style

Want to make your Durango SRT Hellcat truly your own? The Jailbreak package unlocks over 6 million customization combinations for just $995. Choose from:

  • 6 wheel styles
  • 6 exterior colors
  • 5 seat color options
  • 4 brake caliper/seatbelt colors
  • 5 stripe options and more

Why It Matters

While many automakers are phasing out V8s in favor of hybrids and turbos, Dodge is leaning into its roots — giving enthusiasts real displacement, real torque, and real attitude. In a world of sameness, the 2026 Durango lineup is a big, loud middle finger to the status quo.

Whether you’re towing a boat, launching from a stoplight, or just want that unmistakable HEMI soundtrack in your daily commute, Dodge has officially made the V8 SUV accessible again.
